-- MY LIFE.
My life is dominantly ran by the information highway. I am chained and stuck with the idea that if the things that it offers will be gone, it's the end of the world and i'll die. I may sound a bit exxagerated for saying such but its true.
I use search engines like yahoo and google in the internet to search answers for my assignments. I am not used to opening big, bulky and dust-covered encyclopedias to search for answers. These internet search engines does it for me and in 5 seconds or less it shows a wide variety of web pages that provides answers. I'll highlight the text, copy it to MS Word and print it. Then it's done.
I, like the others, enjoy playing on-line games -- O2 jam, audition and DOTA. Though I, and the other players are at distant locations, we still have the chance to interact with each other. It eliminates the distance between us.
Though some of family members and friends are abroad, I still have the chance to communicate with them through the yahoo! messenger. I, at times, even have the chance to see them through the access of the web camera. I could also send them e-mails instead of the "snail mail" that takes days before it reaches them.
I blog stuffs about what's the latest happening to me through my tabulas journal. On-line journals allow its members to interact with each other by comment boxes and tag boards.
SMS and MMS messaging is I guess the best thing that the "Information Highway" gave my generation. Many, or should I say most of us, enjoys the bequest of this satellite-generated creation. Honestly speaking, I spend more time conversing with people miles away from me than my family that I share this house with. I have more sensible conversations with people miles away from me than those who are af feet away from where I'm sitting right now.
The Information Highway.
Irving Fang's so-called "The Highway" was an immense aid to the need of a faster access to communication, information and entertainment. It, coming to the world, eradicated time and distance. It made life easier.
The Information Highway has indeed affected the lives of many. It made information more accessible, entertainment more convenient, and communication a lot more expedient. It might have been a lot more complicated than the former information revolutions but iin my opinion, it was the best.
The use of satellites, invention of computers, access to the internet, contraption of CDs and Cable Narrowcasting -- they marked a developing nation, a mounting way of communication.
Currently feeling: inspired. .:)

They are now here to take over the world.
